DAVAO CITY – Members of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Davao Region are investigating the death of a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, in two separate provinces here October 18.
The first incident took place in Barangay New Visayas in Montevista town in Davao de Oro, when the police received a report from a concerned citizen about the body of a girl, which was found hanging outside her house at around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Upon the arrival of the Montevista police, led by P/Lt. Tomas Claro Jr., the body had already lifted the victim’s brother from its perch.
The brother, 16, tried to revive his younger to no avail, according to Claro.
Initial investigation revealed no possible marking or indication of foul play on the victim’s body. According to reports, the girl allegedly ended her life after she and her boyfriend broke-up. This, however, has yet to be confirmed.
The cadaver of the girl was brought to Lord Anthony Funeral Homes in Montevista.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was also found dead in his room, while embracing his self-learning modular paraphernalia, in Barangay Buhangin in Malita town, Davao Occidental, at around 10 a.m., also on Sunday.
Responding police led by Pat. James Libertad said that the body of the boy was found hanging by the neck by his eight-year-old brother. Initial investigation revealed that prior to the incident, the victim was told by his mother to finish his activities in the module.
The body of the boy was brought at Novis Funeral Homes in Malita. The authorities requested an autopsy procedure from the bereaved family, but the latter has yet to decide on the matter.
