13.9 M poor families have received SAP assistance


The number of low-income families who have received their second tranche of emergency cash subsidies under the national government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) has increased to 13, 982, 340, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Monday.

Around 1, 787 beneficiaries have been added to the list of beneficiaries who received their SAP 2 subsidies, worth over P83.5 billion.  The total recipients as of Oct. 14 were 13, 980, 553. 

“Batay sa datos kahapon, ika-18 ng Oktubre, umabot na sa higit P83.5 bilyon ang naipamahagi ng DSWD sa higit 13.98 (13, 982, 340) milyon na pamilyang benepisyaryo ng SAP,” the DSWD said in a Facebook post. 

(Based on the data yesterday, October 18, over P83.5 billion has been distributed by the DSWD to more than 13.98 billion (13,982, 340) family-beneficiaries of SAP.)

The Department assured the remaining 317,000 unserved beneficiaries that their cash aid will be given to them in due time, as the manual and digital payouts continue.

"Patuloy ang pamamahagi ng emergency subsidy sa mga benepisyaryo ng SAP, kabilang ang mga “waitlisted” o karagdagang mga pamilya,” it added.

The number of the served beneficiaries is 97.77 percent of the 14.3 million recipients targeted to receive the second tranche of subsidies.

The 11 areas covered by SAP 2 are Region III (Central Luzon) , except Aurora province, the NCR; Region IV-A (CALABARZON) ; Benguet; Pangasinan; Iloilo; Cebu Province; Bacolod City; Davao City, Albay province and Zamboanga City.
