TWICE's Jeongyeon to skip promotions for upcoming album due to anxiety

Jeongyeon of the nine-member K-pop girl group TWICE will not be joining the promotions and activities for their upcoming second studio album due to anxiety.

TWICE will be releasing the album “Eyes Wide Open” on Oct. 26, which will be led by the main track “I Can’t Stop Me.”

In an announcement issued on Oct. 17, JYP Entertainment, TWICE’s agency, informed fans on the status of Jeongyeon’s health.

“We would like to inform you about TWICE member Jeongyeon's current health situation and her further participation in TWICE's activity,” it said.

The agency said “currently, Jeongyeon is experiencing psychological anxiousness in moving forward with her schedule. Therefore, after deep discussions with Jeongyeon herself and other TWICE members, we have decided that it is needed for Jeongyeon to have sufficient rest and absolute stability, accompanied by professional medical measures.”

Due to this, Jeongyeon will not be able to be with her fellow members in promoting the new album.

“Because we value our artists' mental and physical health more than anything, we inform you that Jeongyeon will be unable to attend TWICE's activities regarding the 2nd Full Album for the time being. We will keep you updated on any changes in the future. We ask for your love and support for Jeongyeon's full recovery. Thank you,” JYP Entertainment said.

“Eyes Wide Open” contains 13 tracks: “I Can’t Stop Me,” “Hell In Heaven," "Up No More," "Do What We Like," "Bring It Back," "Believer," "Queen," "Go Hard," "Shot Clock," "Handle It," "Depend on You,” “Say Something" and "Behind the Mask."

“I Can’t Stop Me” is written by Park Jin-young and Shim Eun-ji, composed by Melanie Joy Fontana, Michel “Lindgren” Schulz and A Wright, and arranged by Schulz.
