DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD) reported 67 new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Thursday, bringing the total number of active cases to 727.
The DOH said 50 of the new cases were from Davao City, nine were from Davao de Oro, five from Davao del Norte, two from Davao Occidental, and one from Davao del Sur. The region has recorded a total of 3,837 COVID-19 cases.
Thirteen minors aged 15 years old and below were among the 91 new cases of coronavirus disease reported in Davao region on Wednesday, October 14.
Based on the profiles of the confirmed COVID-19 cases released by the DOH on Friday, 11 of the minors were girls.
Six of the minors were from San Isidro town in Davao del Norte, five were from Davao City, and one each from Tagum City and Digos City. The youngest of them was a one-year-old girl from San Isidro town. Data shows that 11 of the minors were asymptomatic, and only two were symptomatic.
The DOH initially said 92 cases were recorded last Wednesday but clarified that only 91 cases were recorded.
Meanwhile, the four deaths recorded last October 14, included a 13-year-old boy from Barangay Bucana in Davao City. The boy had the onset of symptoms on October 4, and was admitted on October 8. He died last October 13.
Another fatality was recorded in Davao City on Thursday, bringing to 130 the total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 in the region.
The DOH also said 60 recoveries were reported, bringing to 2,980 the total number of recoveries in the region.
Among the new recoveries were 21 individuals from Davao City, 20 from Davao de Oro, seven each from Davao del Norte and Davao Oriental, four from Davao del Sur, and one from Davao Occidental.
