CRK expansion completed early

The Clark International Airport (CRK) expansion has been completed end-September, ahead of its original October target completion date.

Its new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) starts commercial operations on January 2021.

Once operational, its passenger capacity will triple from the current 4.2 million to 12.2 million annually.

The expansion will also elevate CRK's stature as “Asia’s Next Premier Gateway,” and will help decongest the passenger traffic at NAIA.

The airport is likewise expected to boost economic progress in Central Luzon, providing jobs and more tourism and socio-economic activities in the entire region.

Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), and GMR Megawide, accelerated construction works at CRK and made a huge headway while still observing health and safety protocols.
