Baguio City to host Miss Universe Philippines 2020 finals

It's all systems go for the grand finals of the inaugural Miss Universe Philippines 2020 beauty pageant which will be held at the Baguio Country Club on October 25.

On Facebook, the Miss Universe Philippines announced that it will be filming the Miss Universe Philippines Preliminaries and Grand Finals in Baguio Country Club, available for streaming worldwide.

"For the first time ever, everyone can watch the Preliminary Interview on October 21, National Costume, Swimsuit & Evening Gown on October 23, and Grand Finals on October 25 with no commercial breaks by subscribing to the Ring Light series on www.empire.ph," the announcement read.

Fifty girls are competing for the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
For the first time in Philippine pageantry, a national beauty contest will allow the candidates to speak in their own languages during the finals.

“There are more than 100 languages in the Philippines. For the first time, we are allowing contenders to express themselves in their own languages, even in interviews, speeches and q&a. Interpreters and subtitles will be provided,” said Jonas Gaffud, creative and events director for Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

The grand coronation of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 beauty pageant will be aired on GMA 7 on Oct. 25.

On coronation night, Gaffud said: “It will have the traditional segments expected from a beauty pageant, but watch out for a fresher and insightful take. Our team poured their heart and soul to this and we are so excited to finally unveil our work.”

Gaffud also said that the Miss Universe Philippines’ Ring Light Series is on-going on the MUP website http://www.empire.ph.
