Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 will push through online

For the first time, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) staged during Christmas season will be held virtually to ensure the safety of the participants and the movie fans.

MMFF spokesperson Noel Ferrer said that the annual film event will push through to recreate happy traditions and experience the MMFF beyond-the-movies together with the whole family.

Ferrer said that the MMFF will soon announce its worldwide streaming partner, which is expected to help eliminate film piracy.

He also said: “Acknowledging the challenges of film shooting these days, the deadline has been moved from Oct. 15 to Nov. 15. Meanwhile, the deadline for finished films based on the approved scripts will be on October 31 to November 30. This will give the producers and filmmakers more time to polish their respective entries.”

Also, the entry fee for MMFF Summer Festival in 2021 has been waived for the resubmission of films.
