Police Station 4 Head Maj. Charles Gever said Flores was behind the wheel of the speeding Mustang, and was tailing the truck driven by Michael Mejica, 42, and of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, when the car crashed into the much larger vehicle.

The car smashed into the truck’s rear end, and even went under it, pinning down Flores and his companions.

Gever said the victims died instantly. The accident happened around 1 a.m.

He said Mejica was under police custody, and will be released from detention if no charges will be filed against him within the reglementary period.
