Manila city gov't finishes brick-laying, painting at Baseco Baywalk

The Manila city government has finished laying and painting bricks at the Baseco Baywalk in Tondo, the city mayor bared on Sunday.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso made the announcement in a Facebook post.

"Magandang balita mga Batang Maynila! Natapos na po ng ating mga kasamahan sa Department of Engineering and Public Works ang paglalagay ng bricks sa ating ginagawang Baseco Baywalk (Good news, ManileÃ±os! Members of the Department of Engineering and Public Works have finished laying bricks at the Baseco Baywalk)," his post read.

"Maliban po dito ay tapos na rin po ang pagpipintura nito upang maging maaliwalas po sa ating paningin kapag po tayo ay dumayo dito sa oras na buksan po natin ito (Aside from this, we have finished painting the bricks so that they will look good once we open this to the public)," he added.

Members of the DEPW had earlier installed lamp posts that were formerly placed along the stretch of EspaÃ±a Boulevard along the esplanade.

The local chief executive appealed to visitors of the Baseco Baywalk to maintain the cleanliness of the new attraction.

"Sana po alagaan po natin ito. Ito po ay regalo sa inyo ng pamahalaang lungsod kung kaya naman po sana ay panatiliin po natin ang kalinisan nito sa lahat ng oras (I hope you will take care of it. This is a gift to you from the city government so I hope you maintain its cleanliness at all times)," he added.
