Enchanted Kingdom to open at half capacity

Enchanted Kingdom will reopen at half capacity this month, according to Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas.

In an interview over DZMM, Arcillas said visitors below 21 years old and above 59 years old will not be allowed inside the theme park.

"Of course hindi to lahat ha, 50 percent capacity. Even doon sa age, below 21 at above 59 (Of course not everyone will be allowed inside, the park will operate at 50 percent capacity, customers aged below 21 or above 59 will not be allowed entry)," Arcillas said Sunday.

The theme park is set to open the weekend before October 25, its 25th anniversary. 

Arcillas said minimum health protocols will be strictly implemented to ensure the health and safety of visitors.

"Sa parking pa lang, kukunin na yung temperature tsaka may QR code for the health declaration. Yung protocol na sine-set ng city, dapat may isolation na sa labas pa lang, and then yung distancing in all of the rides at tsaka hindi lahat ng rides open pa (Temperature checks will be taken at the parking.  There will also be a QR code for the health declaration. The park will also set up an isolation area outside their vicinity in accordance with the city's protocol. Social distancing in all of the rides will also be strictly implemented.)," she said.

Face masks will be mandatory at all times and cashless payment will be "encouraged."

The mayor added she suggested to Enchanted Kingdom management to provide goggles for every ride.

"We won't allow tanggalin yung mask... (We won't allow visitors to remove their masks) Since wala ngang face shield pag ride kasi dangerous, pero naka-mask. Yun lang fluid sa eyes. the risk is actually not major, minimal lang (Since there will be no face shields in rides cause it's dangerous. One concern is the fluid from the eyes. But the risk is actually not major, it's minimal)," Arcillas said.

More and more tourist destinations are reopening while at the same time strengthening safety protocols as the government aims to ease restrictions and allow more businesses to resume at full capacity.

"We're trying to open up yung (the) economy ng (of) Santa Rosa. We see even if we open it, kung ma-in place lahat ng protocols, effective naman (Even if we open it as long as health protocols are in place, it will be effective)," Arcillas said.
