Filipino band 'Munimuni' announces hiatus amid pandemic

Filipino indie band “Munimuni” announced that they will be taking a break amid pandemic.

The band, composed of AJ Jiao, TJ de Ocampo, John Owen Castro, Jolo Ferrer, and Josh Tumaliuan, made the announcement in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

“May i-aannounce lang sana kami. Alam naman nating lahat na medyo mahirap ang panahon ngayon. Maraming problema, maraming nakakalungkot, at the same time, maraming pangangailangan,” the group wrote.

(We just wanted to announce something. We all know that it is a bit difficult right now. There are many problems, many sad times, and at the same time, we have priorities.)

“Kaya sa panahong ito, gusto sana naming ipaalam sa inyo na magpapahinga muna kami. Hiatus, ika nga nila,” they added.

(So this time, we would like to let you know that we will rest first. Hiatus, as they say.)

The band also took the opportunity to thank everyone who supported them.

“Sa mga oras na sobrang dilim, yung suporta niyo ang nagiging liwanag sa amin. Salamat sa pag-asa na binibigay ninyo sa bawat isa sa amin,” they said.

(In times of extreme darkness, your support becomes our light. Thank you for the hope you give to each of us.)

“Munimuni” is known for their popular songs “Sa Hindi Pag-Alala,” “Marilag,” “Sa’yo,” and “Bawat Piyesa” among others.

Meanwhile, IV of Spades also announced last August that they will be taking a break “to pursue personal interests.”
