Execration-NXP rematch headlines MPL Week 7

With the single elimination playoffs on the horizon, teams will be jockeying for good position in the seventh week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League-Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 6. 

The playoff cast in Group A was already completed last week, featuring two-time defending champion Aura PH (formerly known as Sunsparks), Blacklist International, Execration and Nexplay Solid. 

In Group B, Bren Esports, Smart Omega and Onic PH booked their playoff tickets, while Cignal Ultra and BSB were left to fight for the remaining spot. 

Week 7 will kick off with an explosive faceoff between the league's crowd darlings in Execration and Nexplay Solid on Friday at 6 p.m. 

After eliminating Blu Fire and taking its first-ever win against two-time runner-up Onic PH with a 2-1-2 strategy, Execration stayed on joint second with Blacklist International in Group A with 17 points. 

Nexplay will seek to bounce back from a humiliating sweep to Bren last Sunday and hike its 11 points at No. 4. 

Group B leader Bren, which has 23 points after having a 1-1 win-loss record in the previous week, will look to tighten its grip of the top spot versus cellar dweller BSB (six points). 

On Saturday, Blacklist will battle also-ran Blu Fire (two points) in Group A at 4:30 p.m. followed by a titanic Group B clash between the streaking Smart Omega and struggling Onic. 

Omega dealt Bren its first defeat this season then crushed Cignal to improve to 22 points at No. 2 as sidelaner Adrian "Toshi" Caballos earned the Most Valuable Player of the Week award and carry Salic "Hadjizy" Imam tallied the highest KDA with 8.96. 

Onic, which swept BSB behind Danerie James "Wise" Del Rosario's Yi Sun-shin but lost to Execration the next day, will try to up its 15 points at No. 3. 

Group A's top dog Aura (21 points), which bested Blacklist last Saturday, will lock horns with Nexplay at 7:30 p.m. 

On Sunday, Cignal (10 points in Group B) will go for a crucial victory versus Blacklist at 4:30 p.m. even as Bren is expected to take an easy win against Blu Fire at 7:30 p.m. 

Closing the week is the duel between Execration and BSB at 9 p.m.
