ANGONO, Rizal – The municipal government has started designating the sides of M.L. Quezon Avenue and Manila East Road as exclusive bicycle lanes.

The bike lane project of the local government has elicited positive feedback from netizens, some of whom are cyclists themselves or have family members who are biking.
A netizen named Myra De Leon thanked Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon for the project saying the bike lane is a wish granted for her.
Vice Mayor Calderon, who is also the program director of the town’s Serbisyong May Puso Special Action Group and the one initiated the bike lane project, is appealing to motorists to give courtesy to the bikers by not blocking the bicycle lane and that the cyclists should not occupy the other lanes to prevent accident.
The local government said some workers commute to other towns in the province while others to Metro Manila to work. The limited availability of public transportation like jeepneys and buses, which are the most affordable means of commuting, have forced some of them to use bicycles in going to and from their workplaces.
