BOC Ports of Clark, NAIA set to get ISO certification

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark and Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is now preparing to be certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The said process is part of the agency’s 10-point priority program to make all customs offices ISO certified.

The BOC Port of Clark underwent orientation for ISO 9001:2015 documentation last Sept. 29.

While the Port of NAIA had its briefing on ISO management last Sept. 30 in preparation for the upcoming ISO audit on Oct. 12 in order to achieve the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 for the Quality Management System (QMS) certification.

According to District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, NAIA has already implemented ICT systems to strengthen its border protection, enhance trade facilitation, and to systematize NAIA personnel files earlier this year. To date, 15 ICT systems have already been placed.

The Bureau of Customs aims to have all customs ports and offices to be ISO 9001-2015.

This will be a continuing effort for all the ports to further improve its services, systems, and processes for the benefit of its stakeholders.
