Business establishments in Tagaytay will be closed every Monday for disinfection starting October 5.
Mayor Agnes Tolentino, in an executive order, said hotels, restaurants, fast food chains, amusement and theme parks, and souvenir shops will be closed every Monday for the disinfection of their premises.
Services for all existing hotel guests, such as for food and housekeeping, however, are allowed.
Offices and agencies operating from Monday to Friday are required to conduct disinfection on weekends.
Establishments caught violating the order will be ordered closed for one week for the first offense and one month for the second offense.
Tolentino said the move aims to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Tagaytay City.
