Claudine Barretto pens birthday message for late father

Days before the first death anniversary of Miguel Alvir Barretto, actress Claudine Barretto celebrated her father's birth anniversary by writing a warm message for him.

"Yesterday was your birthday yesterday.i didn't have the courage to greet u yesterday so l do it today instead. i want to thank u for being my Father.i will forever & always luv u #doubleinfinity. Happy birthday in heaven," her caption read on Instagram last Sept. 30.

Recall that Mr. Barretto, husband of Estrella Castelo and father to seven children, including showbiz sisters Gretchen, Marjorie, and Claudine, passed away in October.

Claudine then was among the first one who confirmed the news by posting a black and white visual with a moving image of a candle.

"Never knew I could hurt like this. Goodbye daddy," she wrote then.

Then in December, Claudine, 41, expressed how it is a "privilege" being the daughter of Miguel.

"If I were to choose I’d choose u over & over again.missing u terribly," she added.

During May of this year, the 41-year-old star got sentimental remembering his father though it's just been seven months since he left them.

"I hardly cried maybe because most of the time i was on heavy medication so i wouldn’t Breakdown.u can say I’m selfish for wanting you to be here still.i wouldn’t mind taking care of u even more than 16 days of not going home to my kids just to take care & sleep in the ICU even if its bawal & i begged them.this past few days its now hitting me oh so bad. Dad im in so much pain.the kids miss u & me too. pls visit me in my dreams again & again.no medication can ease the Pain anymore.my Pillows are soaked bcoz of crying & i cant stop the Pain Dad. pls help me to learn to let go even just a bit.by now im sure u know that i luv u more than you’ll ever know,now u know Dad.i miss u & will miss u till my last breath."
