Another EDSA U-turn slot to close for busway project

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will close another U-turn slot along EDSA for the EDSA Busway Project starting October 12.

The MMDA said the affected U-turn slot is located in front of the Quezon City Academy.

The MMDA said signages will be installed in the vicinity of the U-turn slot starting October 5 to direct the traffic and inform motorists of the scheduled closure.

The agency had earlier closed the U-turn slot near Trinoma Mall and North Avenue on Monday.

With the closure of the U-turn slot, motorists from northbound going southbound may take the U-turn slot after Congressional Avenue in front of Landers.

On the other hand, vehicles going northbound may take the U-turn slot after Quezon Avenue Service Road, located under Quezon Avenue flyover.

"The eventual closure of U-turn slots along EDSA will make commuter travel through the EDSA Carousel easier, more convenient, and faster," MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said.

The EDSA busway project designates the innermost lane of EDSA as an exclusive lane for buses travelling along the national highway.

Lim assured that the MMDA will deploy additional traffic enforcers to guide motorists and manage the traffic flow in affected areas.
