Kristin Cavallari on design and tracing her bloodline

The early 2000s was dominated by the fun, the sassy, and the blonde. The fashion during that time was dominated by Juicy Couture tracksuits, glossy lips, and frosted eyeshadow. It was the time when Britney Spears claimed her pop star royal seat, when whatever Paris Hilton did and wore was the next big thing, and when Lauren Conrad was the epitome of an LA fashion girl.

Among the leaders of the blonde domination was Kristin Cavallari, then a high school student who, with Lauren, starred in the TV show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which aired on MTV.

Fast forward to two decades later, Kristin is now an actress, a fashion mogul, and the star of a TV show about her life and passion for style—Very Cavallari. It features the Cavallari household in Nashville, as Kristin juggles her role as a wife, mother, and proprietor of her own jewelry brand, Uncommon James.

THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM

The show, back in its third season, focused on Kristin tracing her family tree. In the show, Kristin discovers she is the last Cavallari in her family, which leads to an emotional search for lost relatives. “Family is important to me,” she tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “At the end of the day, family is the one you come home to. When you hear that you’re the last of your kind, it makes you feel alone. It makes you wonder that maybe, there is someone out there who is family.”

Her husband, NFL player Jay Cutler, is a huge support system for Kristin. “Jay has been my rock throughout the process,” Kristin says. “It’s funny because your partner is usually the one who has the jitters when it comes to meeting your family. But Jay’s the one who’s really excited about solving the puzzle and meeting the Cavallaris.”

SIMPLICITY IN STYLE

The new season features Kristin as she works tirelessly with her team to open a new Uncommon James store in Chicago. “I’ve poured my heart and soul into Uncommon James,” she says. “I have had a hand in every facet of this company. The brand is a true reflection of my personal style.”

Each piece of jewelry by Uncommon James is made with delicate metals and gemstones, which seamlessly transition from day to night. Inspired by her wide array of life experiences, travel, and exposure to fashion from around the world, Kristin saw the need to create a jewelry line that is both versatile and affordable for women of all ages and backgrounds.
