BLACKPINK to feature Cardi B in debut studio album


K-pop girl group BLACKPINK revealed the tracklist of their debut studio album and it will include a collaboration with American rapper and Grammy winner Cardi B.

BLACKPINK will release “The Album” on Oct. 2, their first studio album in four years since debuting in 2016. On Sept. 29, they revealed the eight songs in the album.

“The Album” is headlined by the main track “Lovesick Girls” in which Jennie and Jisoo participated in the lyrics and composition along with renowned DJ and songwriter David Guetta, Teddy, Danny Chung, LØREN, 24, Brian Lee, Leah Haywood and R.Tee.

BLACKPINK will feature Cardi B in the song “Bet You Wanna.” Its songwriters are Tommy Brown, Steven Franks, Ryan Tedder, Melanie Joy Fontana, Becalis Almanzar (aka Cardi B), Torae Carr, Jonathan Descartes and Teddy.

Before Cardi B, BLACKPINK had collaborations with Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga. Cardi B won a Grammy last year for Best Rap Album through “Invasion of Privacy,” her debut studio album.

Other songs in the album are the previously released “How You Like That” and “Ice Cream (feat. Selena Gomez),” “Pretty Savage,” “Crazy Over You,” “Love to Hate Me” and “You Never Know.”

Meanwhile, Apple Music and BLACKPINK will have an exclusive “New Music Daily Presents” live streaming listening party at 8 p.m. Pacific Time on Oct. 1 (11 a.m. on Oct. 2 in the Philippines)

BLACKPINK will premiere brand new music ahead of the release of “The Album" and will also chat with fans during the question-and-answer portion moderated by host Zane Lowe. The event will be available on Apple Music at apple.co/nmdblackpinklive.
