Former Senator Ferdinand "BongBong’’ R. Marcos Jr. has reportedly told his family that any plan to seek the Philippine presidency is still not on the table as the scheduled 2022 national and local elections are still less than two years away.
This was revealed on Monday by his sister, Senator Imee R. Marcos, during a DZRH radio interview where the issue of a ‘’No El’’ (no election) was discussed by lawmakers as a possible trigger effect of a proposed postponement of the 2022 election due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Marcos said that her younger brother, Bongbong, jokingly told her that "he is looking for a job as he is now jobless and that he has recovered from a COVID-19 infection."
She said that the family is amenable to any position that Bong Bong would aspire for.
The former senator and vice presidential aspirant has not given up on his pending electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo in the 2016 elections, she said.
She said her brother is non-committal on his political plans as the country is still in an emergency health crisis.
