Another employee of the House of Representatives tested positive for COVID 19, bringing to 80 the total number of cases in the chamber.
A post from Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano’s viber thread revealed Thursday that one female staff of the House leader’s office was found positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus.
“She reported for work on Sept 14-18. She got tested after experiencing body weakness, headache,
colds, and loss of smell and taste,” the viber message said.
It added: “Contact tracing is ongoing.”
On Wednesday, the 79th COVID 19 case was reported by the Office of the Secretary General.
The infected person is a male employee of the Protocol and Special Affairs Service. He tested positive for COVID 19 on Tuesday and reported for work on September 10.
Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said the patient developed the symptoms after being exposed to his mother who had previously tested positive to the disease.
Montales said the mother is not an employee of the Lower House.
Out of the total COVID 19 cases in the chamber, 14 are still active, it was gathered.
