Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday made a surprise visit to the vendors and tricycle drivers who are part of her Community Mart program in Muntinlupa City.
Robredo inspected the Community Mart headquarters in Muntinlupa City Public Market to check its operations and ensure that health and safety measures are being implemented.
“She also shared with them the best practices from other branches of Community Mart in Pasig City and Quezon City,” the Office the Vice President (OVP) said.
During the visit, Robredo also met the personnel from the OVP and Muntinlupa city government who run the online delivery service in the public market.
Robredo’s office launched the e-market program in Muntinlupa City last month. It’s now servicing seven of its barangays.
Residents of Alabang, Ayala Alabang, Buli, Cupang, Sucat, Bayanan, and Putatan can purchase meat, vegetables, and other food items from the Muntinlupa City Public Market and have these delivered to their homes.
The vice president initiated the app-based delivery service to help small market vendors and tricycle drivers, whose livelihood were affected by the community quarantine in Metro Manila.
