Published Sep 21, 2020 07:00 am

Globe Telecom Inc. just declared  a handful of new 5G-ready cities: Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Las Pinas, Valenzuela, and Caloocan.

Earlier, the telco rolled out of its 5G network in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Makati CBD, Rockwell Center, Ortigas CBD, and strategic areas along EDSA and C5.

“We’re firing up our 5G within these cities’ select vicinities which are residential areas and centers of daily commerce," noted Coco Domingo, Globe VP for Strategic Platforms and Partnerships.

"We’re targeting main nerve centers which would benefit greatly from the transformative power of better and faster connectivity,” he elaborated.

Globe has also deployed 5G capable handsets for its Prepaid and TM customers in key areas in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Makati CBD, Rockwell Center, Ortigas CBD, and other key locations along EDSA and C5.

In a country with a broad prepaid market, Globe aims to empower a digital nation and hasten its recovery from the pandemic.

The 5G SIMs are available across all Globe stores, the online shop, and official dealers and resellers.

Globe has also rolled out its suite of 5G-ready devices – from the affordable to high-end range – bundled with a postpaid plan to ensure all Filipinos can enjoy 5G.

Globe also urged  those  still using 3G to switch to 4G SIMs.

Those who are still using 2G/3G SIM may bring their SIMs to the nearest Globe Stores to upgrade to 4G SIM for free.

Postpaid Mobile customers can request to have their SIMs changed via the GlobeOne App.
