Nearly 80 percent of food establishments in Tagaytay City have reopened for tourists, the city administrator said Monday, in a bid to boost the city’s economy amid the pandemic.
Tagaytay administrator Gregorio Monreal said tourists are now allowed in the city as long as they follow minimum health standards like wearing face masks and observe physical distancing.
But senior citizens, those below 21 years old, and pregnant women will not be allowed to enter establishments.
Top tourist spots in Tagaytay City such as Picnic Grove, People’s Park, and Sky Ranch have likewise reopened to the public.
“Mahigpit ang aming pinapatupad na guidelines lalo na sa mga establisyimento, strictly dapat 50 percent lang. May mga umiikot kaming inspection team (We strictly enforce guidelines in these establishments. They are allowed to open at 50 percent capacity. We have deployed inspection teams),” Monreal said in an interview over DZMM.
Monreal also reminded the public to follow the city’s health and safety protocols and to register their information in the logbook of restaurants for contact tracing.
“Sa mga gustong umakyat ng Tagaytay, pakiusap namin na sumunod lang sa aming mga pinapatupad na health and safety protocols. Kung hindi, ay kawawa ang ating mga establisimyento dahil kung magkakaroon ng kaso, automatic lockdown ang establishment. Hinihingi namin ang kooperasyon ng bawat isa (For those who want to visit Tagaytay, please follow our health and safety protocols. Otherwise, we will automatically lockdown the establishment if someone tests positive. We ask for your cooperation),” he added.
