The Caloocan City government and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) partnered to build the new isolation facility.

In a Facebook post, Caloocan City Mayor Oscar "Oca" Malapitan said the 32-bed quarantine facility will be for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms.

The facility has beds and other amenities for the patients. Food and vitamins are also free. There are medical staff to regularly check on the patients.

"Sa pamamagitan ng bagong pasilidad na ito, mas mailalaan natin ang mga ospital sa mga may matinding sintomas at kritikal na mga pasyente (Through this new facility, we can bring symptomatic and critical patients to the hospital)," Malapitan said in a statement released Sunday.

The 32-bed facility adds to the 1,222-bed capacity of quarantine facilities for COVID-19 patients in Caloocan.

Caloocan has 7,687 confirmed COVID-19 cases of September 19.
