Where to get comic books now that Comic Quest is closing

Credible shops where you can get your comic book fix online

Due to the health crisis and economic recession tied to it, many businesses have been forced to shut down for good. After 35 strong years of selling comics and other pop culture merchandise at several branches nationwide, hobby store Comic Quest is joining the list of establishments that have permanently closed.

The store announced the news on Facebook on Wednesday, Sept. 16. The post also mentions that the shop will be having a farewell sale until October at its SM Megamall branch.

The main reason for the closure is because of the pressure from the pandemic combined with the disruption of global distribution of comic books.

“It is and has been an extremely challenging time for us, and we feel that this is our best option moving forward,” the owner posted. “We wouldn't have reached 35 wonderful years in business without loyal customers like you. Our sincerest and most heartfelt thanks for being with us through all these years. While our time in this wonderful industry comes to an end, we're wishing you many more years of happy collecting! And in the words of the great Stan Lee – Excelsior!"

It was at BF Homes where the first branch opened in 1986. Comic Quest has since expanded to outlets in Greenhills, Makati, SM Cebu, and of course, its most popular branch at SM Megamall. Other than reading materials, it also offers toys and apparel inspired by various DC, Marvel, and other comic book franchise.

Now that one of the local legends is completely ceasing operations, here are alternatives to where you can get your comic book fix. All of these brands offer a wide array of comics, cards, and collectibles.
