According to an advisory issued by the Taguig Safe City Task Force, the areas of Pulong Kendi 2, Samasipat, Faculty Street ,and Romantic Street in Bgy. Sta Ana will be placed under expanded Localized Community Quarantine (LCQ) from 6 p.m. today, Sept. 18, until Sept. 30.

Pulong Kendi 2 and Samasipat were earlier placed under LCQ from Sept. 8 to 23 due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in these areas.

During a meeting on Sept. 16 and 17, the task force said its data has not yet identified the source of the transmission and clear identifiers that the spread of the disease has been controlled.” It did not release the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the four areas.

The Taguig City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CEDSU) and the Quarantine and Containment Management Team (QCMT) recommended the “inclusion of additional streets or areas to be declared under LCQ based on the latest available data.”

Quarantine protocols will also be strictly implemented to limit the movement of residents and a more aggressive strategy on community testing and active case finding will be used.

Under LCQ, curfew hours will be implemented in these areas from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and the movement of residents will be limited only to accessing essential goods and services. One individual per household with a quarantine pass will be allowed to go out to buy food and other essentials.

Areas under LCQ will be “cordoned off, and limited entrance and exit points shall be specifically identified,” according to guidelines issued by the task force. Relief packs will be distributed to households under lockdown.
