Prov'l gov't, PNP to impose stricter health protocols, border control to stop COVID-19 spread
PANGASINAN -- Alarmed with the spike in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the province, Governor Amado I. Espino III convened an emergency meeting here on Wednesday and ordered for the strict implementation of health protocols and border control to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Espino led the emergency meeting with department heads of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan and the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPPO) after the Provincial Health Office recorded a total of 49 new cases on September 15, the highest increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases in one day in the province since the outbreak.
“May mga bayan na nagkaroon ng pagtaas ng COVID-19 cases. Dito sa meeting ay diniscuss ang mga strategies at interventions nang sa gayon ay mapigil ang pagtaas ng COVID-19 cases,” said Provincial Police Director Redrico Maranan. (There are towns that recorded a spike in COVID-19 cases. We tackled in the meeting the strategies and interventions that we need to apply to stop the spread of the disease.)
Espino directed the PPPO to impose stricter border control.
Towns and cities which recorded new cases will also be under strict monitoring.
Barangay captains and barangay enforcement teams will also implement the quarantine guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force.
Pangasinenses were advised to stay at home while those who are scheduled to visit the province are urged to postpone their trip.
