The local government of Pasay City has started to distribute financial assistance to 6,453 students from two schools as part of its Financial Assistance to Students Program.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the students who will benefit from the P500,000 financial assistance will come from Timoteo Paez Elementary School with 4,174 students and Pasay City North High School-Tramo with 2,279 including those enrolled in the Alternative Learning System.
Rubiano said the students will each receive P3,000 financial aid covering P1,000 monthly allowance from January to March of school year 2019-2020.
She said the distribution of the financial aid started on Wednesday (Sept. 16) and will last on Sept. 21.
The mayor said they have already finished distributing financial aid to about 53,016 students from 26 public schools.
Rubiano said that the city has been giving monthly allowance to students coming from 29 public schools.
She also said that they are giving P1,000 allowance to 5,000 travel city scholars (poor and deserving high school and college students) coming from 54 private schools.
