Kris Bernal no longer with GMAAC, open to freelance work

Actress Kris Bernal bids GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) goodbye after 13 years.

Her contract with the talent management agency expired amid the ongoing pandemic.

On her recent vlog, the 31-year-old explained this was the reason she was seen on TV5 for the first time, recently.

Kris was among guests on TV5's "Chika, Besh! Basta Everyday Super Happy!" hosted by Pokwang, Pauleen Luna-Sotto and Ria Atayde.

In the first part of the clip, Kris can be seen getting tested for COVID-19, the result of which came out negative.

She said it's one of the "requirements" of "Chika, Besh! Basta Everyday Super Happy!"

Kris also shared some snippets from her appearance on the show where she talked about her makeup and restaurant businesses, wedding plans, and animal welfare.

Near the end of the clip, she was quizzed if she still asked permission from GMA-7 to appear on the show and she answered, "Of course!"

"I did inform my bosses and they were okay about it. Siyempre hindi ko po ito gagawin kung may makakabanga po ako or kung may masasaktan ako," she added.

With her contract with GMAAC ending, Kris declared she is now open to freelance work.

She is currently looking for a manager.

Is there a possibility that she'll transfer to another network?

Kris answered, "Siyempre I value my home network dahil sila po ang nagpalaki sa akin. They were the ones who gave me my biggest breaks, who honed me to become better in my profession, in my passion - acting. And talagang ang laki po ng tiwala nila sa akin, ang laki-laki po ng mga binibigay nilang projects sa akin, lagi akong lead role. And I will be forever grateful...(but now) I'm just really praying to God (and I will go) where He leads me. I trust His plans and I leave my options open."
