BACOLOD CITY - Personnel of Isabela Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental are facing a blank wall on the motive behind the brutal murder of an unidentified man whose body was found in a sugarcane field at Sitio Galo, Hacienda Nalipay, Barangay 5, Isabela, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.
Capt. Joseph Partidas, town police chief, said the victim’s throat was slashed, and his body bore multiple stab wounds when found by a minor who was supposed to have his carabao graze in the area.
Partidas said the victim’s face was covered with duct tape, and his hands were also hogtied using the same tape.
He was half-naked and he had a piece of wire around his neck, an indication that he was strangled, the police chief added.
The police believed that two to four persons were behind the killing. “They might have grudges against the victim,” Partidas said, citing how brutal he was killed.
As of press time, nobody still claims the remains of the victim.
He said it’s possible that the victim was not from the area, since there has been no reported missing person in the town.
He said the victim might be dead already when he was left in the area.
Few weeks ago, similar incidents were also reported in the cities of Bacolod and Bago, and the town of E.B. Magalona.
