An official of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the entire stretch of the Forbes Park perimeter wall must be fixed immediately as it poses danger to the general public once collapses.
MMDA EDSA Traffic chief Bong Nebrija said the matter must be quickly addressed as the perimeter wall of the posh village in Makati City is on the brink of collapse.
Recently, a portion of the perimeter wall suddenly collapsed and its debris fell on EDSA. MMDA personnel were even the ones who cleaned it.
According to the local government of Makati, the collapsed portion is currently being rebuilt by the owner of the lot where the wall is erected.
"We have called their attention regarding the wall years ago," Nebrija said in dismay.
"It is their responsibility once a person gets injured," he stressed. "It is their civil obligation to fix the wall so that nobody gets harmed."
The dilemma with the wall, according to a source, is that the lot owners where it is erected must shoulder the expenses of building a new wall.
Once it rains very hard, Nebrija warned there is a big possibility that portions of the wall will collapse.
"This is why commuters and motorists must not go near the perimeter wall of Forbes Park because it is very dangerous especially when it is raining; the ground becomes saturated and heavy," he said.
