Mayor Francis Zamora said the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has finished verifying the list of SAP beneficiaries in the city.

“We are pleased to announce that the release of funds for the payroll of the 2nd tranche of SAP will begin this Tuesday, September 8,” the local government said in an advisory.

On Aug. 29, the DSWD temporarily suspended the release of the cash aid to verify and validate the list of San Juan recipients after the agency discovered that over 1,000 SAP beneficiaries failed to update their contact information.

The city government utilized the FilOil Flying V Centre for the distribution of the P8,000 cash aid to prevent beneficiaries from trooping to partner banks and ensure minimum health standards are observed.

Zamora said the local government coordinated with Robinsons Bank to provide four automated teller machines (ATMs) at the arena for an orderly, easier and convenient distribution of the cash assistance.

He said SAP recipients will receive a text message from Robinsons Bank informing them that they are qualified to receive the cash aid. The message also contains the seven-digit card access number that will allow them to withdraw the amount.

“You can verify in your barangay if you are among the recipients of the 2nd tranche of SAP,” the mayor said.

Zamora assured that the city government is doing everything they can in order to facilitate the distribution of the cash aid to recipients in the city.

“The funding for the SAP comes from the national government, not from the local government, so DSWD National is strict with the processes that need to be followed in order to receive the cash aid and we need to follow their policies,” Zamora explained.

“They are the ones holding the funds, we do not. And they also have the final say on who can and cannot receive the second tranche of SAP,” he added.
