The Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) is offering another set of free online classes in different fields as more people want to while away the stay-at-home protocols brought by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

QCPL said that the public may now gain knowledge in various fields such as neuroscience, literature, data science, entrepreneurship, molecular biology, calculus, among others, following the initiative taken by EdX, a non-profit online course provider.
“Looking for online classes but can’t afford the hefty fines? Worry no more! Here’s QCPL’s monthly dose of free online classes where you can enjoy various online classes for free right at the comfort of your home,” QCPL on Tuesday said in its Facebook post.
QCPL said those who are interested to participate in one of the classes may visit EdX’s website: edx.org.
Last week, QCPL also called on applicants for free online Japanese classes (scheduled on Sept. 24, Oct. 1 and Oct. 29). It received an overwhelming number of applicants that all slots were immediately fully occupied.
QCPL noted that as a public institution, it “acknowledges and holds high regard for the institutions and creators of these open-sources platforms, including virtual materials/resources that they have produced.”
“The sole purpose of this post is to share and disseminate material’s links/websites to the public and is non-commercial in nature. Hence, this endeavor shall not, in any way, make any form of profit or gain,” QCPL added.
