7 Filipinos abroad bring DFA's COVID-19 tally to 10,136

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday reported seven new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases, 10 new recoveries, and no new fatalities among Filipinos abroad.

In its daily report, the DFA said the new cases and recoveries were recorded in Asia and the Pacific.

The Middle East remains as the region with the most number of Filipinos infected with the coronavirus, maybe because it has a huge concentration of Filipino workers. It is also the region with big numbers of recoveries, under treatment, and fatalities among Filipino nationals.

The Americas now have the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions, except in the total number of deaths, where Asia and the Pacific ranks lowest with only 8 deaths.

As of Sept. 8, 2020, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad is 10,136. Of this total, 3,040 are undergoing treatment, 6,333 have recovered and 763 died due to the disease.
