The Toyota Hilux vehicles were given to the MPD's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, who attended the turnover ceremony, said the vehicles will help MPD-SWAT become among one of the best police units in the country.

"The SWAT of Manila is fully equipped in any given situation sa ating lungsod (in our city). Kapag kinailangan (when needed), at least may mga (there are) equipment or tools that can be utilized properly to address such situation," he said in his speech.

"I think we will have the best SWAT in the country because it's Manila Police District," he added.

The local chief executive said the pandemic will not hold them from continuing their campaign to eradicate crime in the capital city.

"We'll continue to govern. We'll continue to address the peace and order issue of the city," he said.
