This is the second year that CoA gave an unqualified opinion to the OVP’s financial report under the leadership of Vice President Leni Robredo.

The OVP cited a CoA report, signed by supervising auditor Edna P. Salaguban, which said State auditors rendered an unqualified opinion on the fairness of the presentation of its last year’s financial statement.

CoA gives such mark when an agency has fairly presented its financial position and has its financial statements in order, in accordance with the Philippine Public Sector Accounting Standards (PPSAS).

In the audit report for OVP, CoA noted it had unutilized funds from its medical assistance program, but Robredo’s office was able to explain the low fund utilization was due to ban on giving assistance during the 2019 election period.

Speaking on her weekly radio show, Robredo said this latest accomplishment of her office is something that other government offices should aspire for.

“Kasi kapag ina-aspire mo na magkaroon ka ng unqualified opinion, sinisiguro mo na iyong lahat na proseso mo malinis, hindi ka nalulusutan, maayos lahat iyong papeles, maayos lahat iyong proseso,” she said.

The Vice President was grateful to the OVP staff for working hard to make public service delivery more efficient.

“Ang gusto nating pasalamatan dito iyong ating mga staff – lalo na iyong admin – na sila talaga nag-aasikaso ng ating mga proseso. Salamat sa lahat na OVP family kasi pinagtulungan natin ito lahat,” she said.

With Robredo at the helm, the OVP has sustained its ISO 9001:2015 accreditation in a bid to streamline its processes, improve its various units, and promote a sense of honor and commitment among its staff.
