COVID-19 positive escapes from Pangasinan hospital, shows up at town hall
PANGASINAN -- San Manuel Mayor Kenneth Perez will ask the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to investigate the case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient who was able to escape from the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City.
He said the COVID-19 patient, an 85-year-old man from Arzadon, San Manuel town was turned over to R1MC last Sunday, September 4, after he tested positive for COVID-19.
After sending the patient to R1MC on Sunday, they were all surprised when the patient arrived at the municipal hall ground floor on Monday afternoon.
San Manuel official immediately called R1mC, and confirmed that the patient escaped.
The Mayor has callled on the Muncipal Health Officer of his town to take charge of the patient.
The patient is now under the custody of the municipal isolation area in San Manuel while contact tracing still on going.
Perez has also ordered disinfection of municipal town hall.
