Revilla recovers from COVID-19, ends quarantine

Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. has recovered from COVID-19.

Revilla, who tested positive for COVID-19 last month, said on Thursday that he has he finished his quarantine and could finally be with his family.

"My quarantine is done," he announced in a Facebook post.

"My doctors advised me that I can already go out of my isolation room. After over a month, I can finally be with my family na walang pangamba (without worries) whatsoever," he added.

In another post, he also shared a photo of him with his family, captioned: "Finally got to eat dinner with my family tonight after weeks of self-isolation."

The senator's office confirmed on Friday that Revilla had undergone a confirmatory COVID-19 test and found that he is already negative for the infection.

"Yes, negative na siya (he is already negative for COVID-19)," said the senator's staff member in a text message to the Manila Bulletin.

Revilla again expressed gratitude to those who prayed for his recovery.

His wife, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla also thanked the senator's doctors.

"Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga sumama sa aming magdasal para sa kanyang paggaling. To God be the Glory!!!" she wrote in a separate Facebook post.

Revilla was the fourth senator who contracted and recovered from the coronavirus disease following Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri, Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara, and Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III.
