Bus rams 11 motorcycles, car, bus in Makati City

A bus whose brakes reportedly failed rammed 11 motorcycles, a car, and another bus while travelling along Osmeña Highway in Makati City on Friday morning (September 4), Makati Police said.

Initial police investigation showed the erring bus (TYF 328) hit the vehicles when they stopped at a traffic light on the Northbound of Osmeña Highway in Barangay Pio Del Pilar, Makati around 9 a.m.

The driver, Marlon Nacaytona, 29 claimed the brake of his vehicle did not work when he stepped on the pedal.

The injured victims were rushed to Ospital ng Makati, Makati Medical Center, and St. Luke's Global.

Colonel Oscar "Jack" Jacildo, Makati Police chief, said one of the injured individuals is a Philippine Coast Guard officer.

Nacaytona is now under police custody.
