3 Antipolo City hospitals to operate on limited scale due to COVID infections

ANTIPOLO CITY- At least three of four hospitals being managed by the provincial and city governments will be operating on a limited scale as a portion of the said medical facilities will be closed for disinfection after 24 health workers were infected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In his Facebook post, Dr. Casimiro ‘Junjun’ Ynares, III said the Outpatient Department of the Rizal Provincial Hospital System (RPHS)-Annex 2 in Barangay Dalig, will be closed until September 6.
The hospital will likewise not admit new patients while it is undergoing disinfection and sanitation procedures.
The emergency room, however, will be open but will operate on a limited capacity.
Meanwhile, 18 health workers of the Antipolo City Hospital System Annex 4 in Barangay Mambugan had been infected by the virus prompting the city government to temporarily close its OR-DR Complex on September 5 and September 6.
The out-patient department of the RPHS Antipolo Annex 4 will also be closed from September 7 to 9.
Ynares said the RPHS Antipolo Annex 1 in NHA Avenue in Padilla in Barangay Dela Paz will remain open to accommodate patients needing medical attention.
The city government said it has started contact tracing efforts after the infections were reported.
As of September 3, Antipolo City has 1,768 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 1335 recoveries and 364 active cases.
