The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on Thursday said that it will respect the court processes and will await the resolution of the motion for reconsideration filed by the family of slain transgender Jennifer Laude.

BuCor spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag said that United States Marine Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton remains under the custody of BuCor at its extension facility in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
"The normal release process is on hold," Chaclag added.
The legal counsel of Laude's family, Virginia Lacsa Suarez, has filed a motion for reconsideration before the Olongapo City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 74 asking to recall the release order.
In December 2015, Pemberton was convicted of homicide for the killing of Laude and was sentenced to imprisonment from six to 10 years.
Suarez argued that there was no reason that the court should reduce Pemberton's sentence by giving him Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) credits.
Chaclag had earlier said that "normal process of post release documentation will apply just like any other court decision."
He added that "it (release) is within the court's decision" and "regardless of any computation" they are legally bound to follow the court.
