LOOK: Heart Evangelista’s new college library in Sorsogon is a K-drama dream come true

We have to admit we’re very jealous of Sorsogon State College’s students right now

What else do we love about our favorite K-dramas besides oppas, winter staples, and feel-good yet tragic storylines? Hands down, the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves that serve as dreamy backdrops for dreamy meet-cutes.

Heart Evangelista, a self-proclaimed K-drama fan, is not one to deny this as she managed to make this desire come to life for a very great cause.

On her Twitter and Instagram posts, the actress gave a video sneak peek of Sorsogon State College’s new multi-level library with the right amount of “K-drama feels.” The new two-story facility is housed in a dome-shaped atrium replete with wooden tables and chairs, books (of course), an airconditioned ground floor, and tall glass windows so students and locals can have a cultural space they can call their own.

Heart even toured her followers around the almost-finished library in a puffed-sleeve full piña micro dress by young “it” designer Chris Nick de los Reyes. According to fans, the dress resembled Ko Mun-Yeong’s (Seo Ye-Ji) dainty frocks in the recently-concluded series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

She also revealed in another tweet that the state-funded institution will be converted into a university soon. “My husband authored the law to convert it. just complying with some CHED requirements,” the caption said.

Here’s what we’ve heard from her fans:

This project is Heart’s continued pursuit to promote the beauty and culture of Sorsogon, where Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, her husband, grew up. Although the province is not a well-known tourist destination in the Philippines, she aims to change this by empowering local artisans and women weavers through collaborations, livelihood support, and social media promotion of their products and crafts.
