In an information released by the Davao City Police Office, the police recruits were on field training when they chanced upon the woman, who was about to give birth while waiting for a ride to the hospital in front of Talomo police station.

The rookie policemen immediately assisted the mother, with one of them rushing to the police station to seek the help of the duty nurse, a certain P/Corporal Regidor, who helped the woman give birth to a healthy baby girl.

The police immediately brought the mother and her newborn to Sanitarium Hospital Bangkal onboard a patrol car for immediate medical assistance.

Talomo Police Station Commander Lt. Col. Ronald Lao lauded the troops for immediately responding to the mother’s call for help.

"This is one of the many instances that showed our police performing their duties to the best of their abilities and it makes us incredibly proud," Lao said in a statement.
