Bacoor puts two community markets under 14-day lockdown after 21 vendors contract COVID-19

BACOOR CITY, Cavite - The city government has placed Greenvalley Talipapa and Queensrow East Talipapa under a 14-day lockdown starting 12 noon Tuesday (Sept.1) after 21 vendors tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Executive Order No. 38 declared the two locations as Critical Zones after 10 new confirmed cases were recorded in Queensrow East Talipapa, and 11 new cases were recorded in Greenvalley Talipapa.

Vendors of both markets were included in the targeted mass testing conducted on Aug. 28, the results of which were released Monday, Aug. 31. The COVID-19 patients were immediately isolated and their households, contained.

The city government called on residents who went to either markets between August 24 to 31 to immediately contact their Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.

All stalls inside and immediately around the two community markets were ordered to temporarily close until Sept. 14. Ambulant vendors are also prohibited in the market.

As of Aug. 30, Bacoor has 1,591 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 920 recoveries and 59 deaths.
