Overseas voter registration resumes Sept. 1


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said overseas voter registration and certification will resume on Sept. 1.

In Resolution No. 10677, the Comelec said the conduct of continuing registration and certification at the Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) in Intramuros, Manila shall will be held from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30.

The resumption also covers the following transactions and frontline services such as recapture of biometrics; reinstatement of name inadvertently omitted in the National Registry of Overseas Voters; change of name due to marriage or court order; correction of entries in the Voter’s Registration Record; reactivation of registration records; change or updating of address and other contact information (within the same foreign service post and country); updating of photograph and or signature; and request to withdraw the application for registration/certification pending Resident Election Registration Board (RERB) approval.

According to Comelec, it will accept registration and other transactions from Mondays to Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays, on an appointment basis.

The Comelec said the applicant must wait for confirmation of requested appointment. The OFOV will send a notice to the applicant confirming his or her appointment.

The poll body reminded applicants that a "NO FACE MASK AND FACE SHIELD, NO APPOINTMENT, NO ENTRY" will be implemented.
