At least 114 households received cash assistance, food packs, facemasks, face shields, bicycles, and medicines.

The beneficiaries consisted of homeowners and renters who were directly affected after a fire broke out in the area on Thursday afternoon, August 27.

A total of seven houses were partially damaged and 44 were totally destroyed, the Bureau of Fire Protection said.

BFP said the conflagration destroyed over P13 million in properties.

Go said he has already asked the village chief to attend to the needs of the victims.

"I told your barangay leaders to help the victims until they can get back on their feet," Go told the residents.

Barangay Panacan village chief Doce Apostol said in an interview that the evacuees will temporarily occupy a religious chapel.

"But our parish offered a tent with a barrier which separates the families. However, it does not have a roof yet, so we will still look into it," Apostol said.
