Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. declared this on Friday as he dismissed social media reports of his supposed death.

“Sa mga pumapatay sa akin sa social media, sorry to disappoint. I'M ALIVE AND KICKING!” he wrote on Facebook.

The senator was recently rushed to hospital due to COVID-19 infection, and was discharged last Monday after his health condition improved.

In a series of updates on the social networking site, Revilla kept thanking his supporters who prayed for his recovery from COVID-19.

“Andito po ako, buhay na buhay... Buhay na buhay si Bong Revilla at hindi po tayo papatalo sa COVID (I am here, very much alive... Bong Revilla is very much alive and we will not yield to COVID-19),” he said in one his live video updates.

His wife, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla, also addressed what they described as “fake news” about the senator’s death.

“Gusto ko lang klaruhin po, andami pong lumalabas na fake news, ‘Patay daw si Sen. Bong’, ayan po po siya (I just want to clarify, there have been a lot of fake news, saying ‘Sen. Bong is dead’, no, he is here),” Mercado said in a separate Facebook Live update, showing Revilla on her computer screen.

“Buhay na buhay po ang asawa ko (My husband is very much alive),” added Mayor Lani, who had earlier appealed for prayers while Sen. Revilla was still confined.

Revilla had earlier said that while he was saddened over the claims of his death, he has forgiven those who wished him dead.

He has been saying that his bout against the novel coronavirus disease had not been easy for him and his family as they still grieve the death of his father, Ramon Revilla Sr.

While Revilla was already discharged from the hospital, his isolation and treatment continue.

“Patuloy po ang ating pagpapagaling para mas marami pa tayong magawa para sa ating bayan (We are working on our recovery so that I can do more for our country),” he said in another post on Friday.

He thanked anew his doctors, who, he said, have been monitoring his condition over the phone.
