P3.4-million seized from high-value target in Cebu City

CEBU CITY—Packs of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million were seized when anti-narcotics agents arrested a high-value target in Barangay Kasambagan here on Thursday night.

Nel Sidra Mayor, 46, was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by agents of Region 7’s Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Police Drug Enforcement Group.

Seized from the suspect were 57 plastic packs believed to contain shabu.

The PDEA 7 said the suspect was capable of selling 300 to 500 grams of shabu in different barangays in the city.

The suspect’s alleged illegal activities were reported by netizens to “Isumbong Mo Kay Wilkins” Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the PDEA 7 announced that the Barangay PDEA Facebook page will be launched on September 1 as part of the highlights of the first 100 days of PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva.

The Barangay PDEA FB page will serve as an online platform which aims to provide a wider and more accessible information about the agency's Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP).

The page will also highlight the harm reduction initiatives of the Local Government Units under the BDCP.
