The British MPV made for Pinoys

Maxus Philippines wants to brighten up the usually “gloomy” August. The company recently introduced its latest MPV offering, the G50 MPV, decked out in colors only previously seen on custom rides. It was unveiled at a virtual launch earlier this week, and comes in three variants.

With their new slogan, “Max More,” and its current lineup of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) made up of the V80 van, T50 pickup, and G10 minivan, Maxus hopes to be top of mind for Filipinos when it comes to moving cargo and people.

The G50 is more than just a basic people mover. It sports a very modern design, with a spacious interior that seats eight passengers. For extra style, it rolls on 17-inch wheels with wide 215 mm tires.

Under the hood, it’s powered by a turbocharged, four-cylinder 1.5-liter direct injection gasoline engine. It produces 169-Ps at 5,500rpms with 250-Nm of torque between 1,700-4,300rpms. This is mated to a seven–speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

To match its competition, like the Toyota Innova, it comes with features like electric power steering, a touch screen entertainment system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, mobile wireless charging, steering wheel mounted controls, cruise control, keyless entry, push start engine ignition, front and rear airconditioning, LED headlights, auto fold power adjustable side mirrors, a panoramic sunroof and a power tailgate to name some of its key features.

It also hopes to outdo its rivals with added features like driver, passenger and front side airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, three-point seatbelts all around, ISOFIX child seat compatibility, Electronic Stablization Program (ESP), EBA+HHC, front and rear parking sensors and 360 degree panoramic view cam, tire pressure monitor, front and rear disc brakes and Immobilizer.

The Maxus G50 is a value-for-money proposition, ideal for young entrepreneurs, and middle management types who not only need an all-in-one vehicle, but a “more–in-one” MPV as a daily driver, business or delivery vehicle, or weekend liesure ride with family or friends.

“We have recognized the importance of families since we launched our flagship model, the G10 multi-purpose vehicle in 2019,” said Felipe Estrella, Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. President. He recognizes the role LCV’s play in Filipino’s lives. “We likewise appreciate the hard work of micro, small, and medium enterprise owners. The reliability, efficiency, power and versatility of our products make them ideal for businesses and even essential, life-saving purposes. The G50 is our latest vehicle that caters, again, to the Filipino family.”

“The G50 is an MPV that can take in even your extended family members since it’s an 8-seater,” said Maxus Philippines General Manager Reginald See. “It’s ideal for long road trips and family picnics. The great thing about this is that it has the price of a sub-compact MPV.”

The G50 is available in three trim levels, Pro (P1.088 Million); Elite (P1.168 Million), and; Premium (P1.288 Million). The Elite and Premium trim gets exclusive features like a massive 12.3-inch entertainment system, 360-degree camera system and leather seats. The Premium gets LED headlights, a panoramic moonroof, and many more convenience features.

The G50 comes in Warm White, Warm Argent, Metal Black, Water Blue, Roland Purple, Polar Ash, and Deep Golden. Color availability will depend on the trim level.

Besides these features, owners of the G50 can enjoy “Max” quality, efficiency and convenience of aftersales products, services, and worry-free ownership. This is thanks to a warranty coverage that is five-years long or 100,000 kms, whichever comes first. You’ll also get 24/7 emergency roadside assistance and on-site servicing for corporate fleet accounts.
